Zinc Chromating Process - Blue Pass - 2000
APPLICATIONS: Produces a very clear blusih bright chrome - like colour on bright zinc deposits. Minimises finger marking and corrosion.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 4 g/l + 12 to 15 ml/l Nitric Acid, room temperature, 5 to 30 seconds, pH 1.2 to 1.8 C.R. up to 24 hours.
Blue Passivation Process for Zinc - Passval BL
APPLICATIONS: Produces a bright, light blue iridescent - free passivated film on bright zinc deposits. Low concentration, economical solution.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 3 g/l + 12.5 ml/l Nitric Acid, room temperature, 10 to 20 seconds, pH 0.6 to 1.2 C.R. up to 24 hours.
Iridex Passivation Process - Passival IR
APPLICATIONS: Two stage processes minimises staining and finger marking on bright zinc deposits with only a minimum effect on the appearance. Used without bleach stage will produced faint yellow passivation on zinc and cadmium deposits.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 12 g/l., Room temperature, 5 Seconds, bleached in 50 g/l sodium carbonate solution for 15 seconds at room temperature, C.R. up to 24 hours. C.R. without bleach 48 to 72 hours
Clear Passivation Process for Cadmium - Passival CCD
APPLICATIONS: Colourless passivation of bright or dull cadmium deposits. Gives excellent rarnish resistance and reduces alkali staining.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 50 g.l, room temperature, 15 to 30 seconds. C.R. up to 24 hours.
Cadsal KP
APPLICATIONS: A final dip for bright and dull cadmium deposits preventing discolouration of the plated surface. Brightens dull deposits.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 30ml/l, room temperature, 10 to 15 seconds.
Full Passivation Concentrate-Passival ZL
APPLICATIONS: A liquid concentrate simply diluted to produce a low concentration, economical solution. Gives full irodescent passivation on zinc and cadmium deposits and zinc diecastings. Suitable for manual and mechanised plant. May be bleached.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 12 to 15 ml/l manual operation. 10 to 20 ml/l for mechanical operation depending on dwell time. Nitric Acid 3 to 5 ml/l, room temperature, pH 0.8 to 1.25, to 10 to 40 seconds. C.R 100 hours minimum. C.R. with bleach upto 75 hours.
Full Passivation Process for Automatic Plant-Passival A
APPLICATIONS: Full iridescent passivation on zinc and cadmium deposits and zinc diecastings; high adhesion film. Long immersion times varied by pH. Suitable for use in automatic rack and barrel plant. May be bleached.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 100 g/l, room temperature, pH 1.45 to 2.3 according to process time. 20 to 120 seconds. C.R. 100 hours minimum. C.R. with bleach upto 75 hours.
Full Passivation Process - Passival Z
APPLICATIONS: Full iridescent passivation on zinc and cadmium deposits and zinc diecastings. For use on manual plant with short immersion time.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 100 g/l, room temperature, 5 to 15 seconds C.R. 100 hours minimum.

Green Passivation Process - Passival GN
APPLICATIONS: Produces true Olive drab colour on zinc plated articles. Can be applied directly to zinc based diecastins. Single liquid concentrate for simple make-up and maintenance. Can be used for rack & barrel.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 80 to 120 ml/l, room temperature, pH 0.8 to 1.4., 0.5 to 2 minutes. C.R. upto 144 hours
Black Chromate Passivation Process - Passival BK 850 / 851
APPLICATIONS: Produces intensely black, corrosion resistant passivation film on zinc deposits and zinc diecastings. Two liquid concentrates for simple make-up and maintenance. Rack or barrel use.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 100 ml/l Passival BK-85- + 100 ml/l Passival BK-851, room temperature, pH 1.5 to 2.0, 1 to 4 minutes. C.R.upto 72 hours.
Passn BK 90 A / 90 B
APPLICATIONS: Produces intensely black, corrosion resistant passivation film on zinc deposit and zinc die castings. Two liquid concentrates for simple make-up and maintenance. Rack or barrel.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: Use 100 ml each at room temperature pH 1.5 to 2.0 1 to 4 minutes.
Trivalent chromium base chromate passivation process for zinc and zinc alloy deposits is specially for environment friendly alternative to existing hexavalent chromium based passivations, which are known carcinogenic and major health and environment hazard. In response to new EU guidelines use of Cr+6 based Passivates are to be replaced with Cr+3 based ones.
Passivates give improved Corrosion resistance and are now well established alternative in auto and other industries. CMP has long proven products range in this category. Brief information is given below:
TriPass IR 100
Silvery yellowish white finish with slight iridescent finish. Used 100 ml/lit. at 40-45° C keeping pH at 1.4-2.0 process time 30-90 seconds.
TriPass Blue 100
Distinct blue colour with very attractive pleasing finish. Used 20-40 ml/lit. at 25-40° C Keeping pH at 1.4-2.0 process time 30-90 seconds.
TriPass Super Blue 150
Deep blue finish with higher corrosion resistance. Used 140-160 ml/lit. At 25-35° C keeping pH at 1.6-2.2 process time 30-90 seconds.
TriPass Blue 20
Good blue colour with very attractive pleasing finish. Cost effective version for general purpose passivation Used 20-40 ml/lit. at ambient temperature, Keeping pH at 1.4-2.0 process time 30-90 seconds.
Tripass Super NP 2212
Yellowish iridescent coloured finish with higher corrosion resistance. Used 100-120 ml/lit. at ambient temperature keeping pH at 1.5-2.5 process time 40-80 seconds.
1.TriPass BK
Deep black finish with very high aesthetic appeal, having good corrosion performance.
Tri Pass BK (A) = 180-200 ml/l.
Tri Pass BK (B) = 80 ml/l.
Tri pass BK (C) = 20-30 ml/l
pH (electrometric) = 1.0-2.0 Temperature 30-40° C Immersion Time = 10 – 60 Seconds.

b. Sealing Stage: (Sealing bath Solution is to be prepared in a separate tank/container.)
MetaSeal-300 = 200 – 300 ml/l at ambient temperature, for 15-20 sec.
Zinc Blackening Process - Ebony Black
APPLICATIONS: Two stage process producing a rich black colour on zinc deposits and zinc alloy diecastings
OPERATING CONDITIONS: Pre-dip stage 12g/l +sulphuric acid to pH 5.5, 25 to 40° C, 2 minutes. Zinc Blackening stage 50 g.l + sulphuric acid to pH 4.5, 65 to 70° C, 3 to 15 minutes.
Black Oxidising Process for Steel – Boss
APPLICATIONS: A high temperature process for producing a good black finish on steel. Ideal for hand tools and small machine parts. They should be oiled as a final treatment.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 1100 g/l, 138 to 145° C; 10 to 15 minutes. Caution - operate this hot solution with care.
Black Nickel Process – Nisal NG
APPLICATIONS: Produces a beautiful jet black finish. Ideal for decorative uses on articles as varied as giftware and tools. Can be plated onto brass or nickel plating, subsequently scratch burshed to produce attractive and modern effects. Used on optical equipment, nameplates and photomasks. Used as selective absorber on solar energy collector. Must be lacquered after plating to preserve finish.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 60 g/l, 15 to 20° C, 0.75 to 1.0 volts, 0.1 A/dm2, pH 5.8 to 6.0, 30 to 60 minutes cold. Maintenance: Nisal NGR Salts 1.5 to 3 g/l
Oxidising Process for Copper & Silver
APPLICATIONS: These salts produce an OXIDISED burnished Finish (Brown or Black) on Copper, Silver, and Copper plated and Silver plated articles. The addition of water makes the solution ready for use.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: Copper Oxidising Salts=12-25 gm/ltr., Silver Oxidising Salts = 25 gm/ltr. For Copper R. T., For Silver oxidizing warm at 50-60° C.
Colourless Passivation Process for Brass and Copper - Passival CP
APPLICATIONS: Produces a clear passivation film which is resistant to tamishing, on solid copper, brass and bronze and electrodeposits of these metals.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 200 g/l, room temperature, 15 to 40 seconds.
Silver Passivation Process – Silver AG
APPLICATIONS: One stage process for passivating silver plated decorative & Industrial Silver depoosits to reduce tranishing. It has no effect on the colour of Silver deposits and is suitable for dull, bright & polished coatings.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: Passival AG salt 100 g/l, room temperature, 1 to 2.5 minutes, 2.5 to 3 A/dm2 cathodic, 4 to 6 volts.
Silvo Tarnil
APPLICATIONS: For anti tarnish coating on silver plated components.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 200 g+ Ammonia + Black Bronze Addition Agent, room temperature to 50° C maximum, 5 seconds.
Cupro Tarnil
APPLICATIONS: For anti tarnish coating on copper and copper plated components.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: Immerse for 10-20 seconds cleaned components’ in Cupro Tarnil l solution (80-100 ml/lit )at Ambient temperature. And dry.
Black Bronze for Brass
APPLICATIONS: Imparts an ebony black finish to brass articles which has no effect on surface texture. May be relieved.
Should be lacquered to preserve the finish.
OPERATING CONDITIONS: 200 g+ Ammonia + Black Bronze Addition Agent, room temperature to 50° C maximum, 5 seconds.
